Ancure - Definition
The Ancure
device (aka Stent Graft) was developed by the company EVT and commercialized
by Guidant. The Ancure device was used to treat abdominal aortic aneurysm.
The Ancure medical device, that is part of the Ancure Endograft System, uses a
catheter to insert a sheath through the femoral artery in the leg.
The Ancure device was promoted as allowing physicians to repair bulges in the
aorta, without the need of performing major open surgery.

According to the reports
75 patients died and 991 (minimum) were injured after receiving Ancure
implants. Lawsuits charge that some were the result of the implants.
Evidence show there were numerous problems with implanting the Ancure
device and also that company officials were aware of the failures of Ancure medical device to some extent.

to describe a cancerous tumour which involves the mesothelial cells

caused by asbestos
exposure. The incidence of mesothelioma rises with the intensity and
duration of exposure to asbestos. However, there are numerous cases
of mesothelioma among people with very little occupational exposure
or even household exposure. Some people get mesothelioma 30 or 40
years after a summer job working construction, and some housewives
or children were exposed from work clothing. Many people being diagnosed
with mesothelioma now were exposed in the Navy many years ago, often
unknowingly.

used for weight loss, as an energy booster. These products often contain
other stimulants, such as caffeine, which may increase the potential
for adverse effects. Ephedra is often touted as the "herbal fen-phen."

Ephedra is one of the most dangerous of the
dietary supplements. Over 800 injuries and 50 deaths have been reported
by users and doctors to the FDA and various state medical bodies.
Most of these cases involve the heart attacks or high blood pressure
leading to bleeding in the brain or stroke.
